"Kermit" Griffin

First Appearance: Mentioned in Wars Are Won By Those Who Dare: Family, Friends, and Foes

Kermit Griffin

"Kermit" Griffin is a mysterious former mercenary turned detective. Nicknamed "Kermit" because of the dark green shades he never takes off, he is the 101st Precinct's computer expert.

First appeared in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues: "The Return of the Shadow Assassin"

My Developments: He helped Peter Caine escort Allie Baker from San Francisco to her brother William in New York.

Kwai Chang Caine

First Appearance: Mentioned in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ronin

Caine

Caine is a Shaolin priest, who--like his namesake grandfather--tends to wander around helping people. The Shaolin invented kung fu, and Caine is a master of its arts as well as a skilled healer. His is the father of Peter Caine.

First appeared in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues "Initiation"

My Developments: Allie Baker tried to save him and the Ancient from Val Tech Hounds that were searching San Francisco for her. The two old men ended up taking care of the Hounds, and Caine offered her food and shelter. Allie took the offer and started learning kung fu.

Val Tech made sure the time to stop fighting didn't last long. Allie protested their opening a lab in Chinatown and drew attention to herself. Peter was forced to take her into custody as one of the suspected terrorists that attacked Val Tech in San Diego. But when the 101st Precinct refused to release Allie to Val Tech's phony cops (due to Peter and Kermit's suspicions), they decided to destroy the whole precinct rather than risk Allie telling them anything.

With the help of the local Mutates, they survived the night and repelled the Val Tech forces. They decided the safest choice for Allie was to send her back to her family in New York. She didn't want to go, but Caine convinced her to try while he helped the Mutates in her place.

In the years since, Caine has decided to go wandering again. Peter contacted Allie asking if his father had come to see her. She figured he is traveling in Mutates circles, and went looking for him after killing Oroku Nagi (read Wars Are Won By Those Who Dare: Family, Friends, and Foes).

Lotus Blossom

First Appearance: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Bloodlines

Lotus Blossom

The character Lotus Blossom was a true ninja, hiring out her martial art skills and leaving a lotus flower at the site of her crimes. Krang hired her to replace the Shredder, and Leonardo fell in love with her.

First appeared in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "Beware the Lotus" (1989 cartoon episode)

My Developments: Lotus Blossom is one of the last descendents of the Norinaga clan that the Turtles met in ancient Japan (see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III). She joined the Foot Clan, but disagreed with Oroku Saki and Nagi's leadership. She refused to follow Nagi to New York. The elders chose her to accompany Clin-san because of her skills.

She spent the night William Baker died trying to find Allie. Eventually, her path crossed with Leonardo and it was love at first katana thrust. She chose to stay in New York and help protect and train Zack (read Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Bloodlines).

Over the years, their relationship has deepened. Leo gave her the magic scepter as an engagement gift (read Wars Are Won By Those Who Dare: Family, Friends, and Foes).

Mona Lisa

First Appearance: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ronin

The character Mona Lisa was a humanoid salamander mutant love interest of Raphael. She was created by Captain Filch who became her sworn enemy. Raph won tickets to a costume ball on a ship. Mona used him to get onboard. And after Captain Filch tried to hijack the ship, they teamed up to defeat him.

First appeared in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "Raphael Meets His Match" (1990 cartoon episode)

My Developments: Mona Lisa was a human teenager on her way to becoming a rock star. After some small successes in her home town, she decided to runaway to New York. She was picked up in Atlanta by Val Tech instead. They mutated her into a humanoid salamander complete with tail. The lab was attacked and she joined forces with the liberators, the Mutates. After adopting the name Mona Lisa and some training, she was sent to New York to join Sanke-eyes's cell. There Mona finally made it to a stage in the Snake Pit, and met the Mutate legend Allie Baker.

Everything changed the night Mona was assigned to keep an eye on the Ronin. She left to start and was plowed down by a humanoid turtle chasing her quarry. He was cute, and his name was Raphael. And she found out that the Mutates in New York had the wrong idea on the origin of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She couldn't tell the Turtles about Mutates business because she didn't know if they were trustworthy yet, and Allie asked her not to. She didn't spill any of the Turtles' secrets to Snake-eyes either.

Things came to a head quickly. The Shredder tried to fight Zack Baker early. The Ronin put a stop to that, but was revealed to be Allie. Allie killed the Shredder, and went into--well--it seemed like a pre-suicidal state to Mona. So when Allie came up with leaving, Mona went with her (read Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ronin).

They spent three months wandering the Mutates underground looking for a Shaolin priest Allie knew. Mona spent that time working on Allie's sense of guilt and her fears of turning evil. By the time they reached Chicago, Allie was back to fighting and using weapons. The Val Tech chased the Turtles to Chicago, and Allie nearly fell apart again between the Turtles' antagonism and Zack's mutation. Add to that Raph's snarly conclusion jumping and an alien out to buy up Earth's resources; no wonder the Martians were glad to see them leave (read Wars Are Won By Those Who Dare: Family, Friends, and Foes).
